Feb 25, 2012 Sat Day 16 Sydney

First morning.  Breakfast on their lovely deck.

Ian is showing us the coffee choices.

This one was my choice.

A new cappuccino machine earned it's keep this morning.

The result.  Not only does it look beautiful.  It is delicious.  Best coffee we had yet.
It was a moment of the sublimest  happiness.

Chrissy making a delicious breakfast of bacon, french toast with maple syrup and potato puffs.
Before we had this big breakfast, we all ate a cupcake Karena made for us.

Mother and daughter.  Chrissy and Karena.
You are right Janice, the birds and flowers are gorgeous.
Rainbow Lorikeet in their back yard.

Having breakfast outside....without bugs.  Such a treat.

"Beatles Man"

Bald Hill.  Pacific Ocean.

Ian and Chrissy

Very high.  Click on the picture and you can see the boats.
See Arlene!!!   No socks!!!

Our next stop was the "Symbio Wildlife Park"
Southern Cassowary. .

What I have been waiting for.  The Koala and Kangaroos.

Awesome. Cutest little guys. (I mean the koalas...though Ian is pretty cute too.)
Peter gave her the best message.  The koala actually stayed and closed her eyes.

Koalas sleep 22 hours per day.  They only eat the eucalyptus leaves.  Eucalyptus leaves are low in proteins and almost indigestible. Koalas have a very low metabolic rate, which is needed to help them digest the leaves and ensure they get as much nutrition as they can from a diet on which other mammals cannot survive. This is why they sleep so much.

Tasmanian Devil

Short-beaked Echidna
Red Panda

Red Panda

Blue-winged Kookaburra

Red Bottle Brush.

Freshwater Crocodiles

This little joey stood on it's hind legs and looked me straight in the eye.
Ian had my camera.  Thanks Ian. Great shot.

These Llamas loved Immy.

Wedge-tailed Eagle

Lorrikeets

Ian and Chrissy's home. We came home for lunch after the visit to the wildlife park.
The huge van is a rental.  It's seats 8 people.

 Blue Tongued Lizard

First time one was seen in their backyard.  Their dogs, Blossom and Bree were beside themselves.
So funny.   Also saw our first cockroach outside.  Very common in tropical countries.

After lunch we headed off to Camellis Gardens
A popular park for weddings....definitely Kodak moments.

Two pics of Peter and Immy.
Couldn't pass this one up.

Sacred Ibis

Off to downtown Sydney.  Thousands of people.

Indonesian Restaurant.  Delicious meal  and great company.

A stroll to get some pics of the Opera House at night.

Very impressive.

Harbour Bridge.
Excellent day.  It was still warm out when we got home at 11 pm.
Karena was waiting for us outside.  Interesting....teenagers getting home before their parents.
