I'm typing the blog entries while driving. Till the battery is empty. Usually 1 1/2 hrs.
Windy, windy roads. Have to stop many times. But it works.
Finally, this morning we had our first good coffee in the camper. Took us 4 days to
get it right. A kind man in the grocery store helped us. Everyone here is sooo friendly
and they all want to help. Many rented mh on the roads, and that is almost all you see
at the campgrounds. Plus a lot of backpackers. Diesel prices are slowly climbing.
1.59 now. We saw our first snow top mountains today. Amazing scenery. At 9:30
we stopped at a picnic area for breakfast. More snaky roads with valleys on one side
and mountain s 2" from our mh. Oops the mountain got in our way. Our insurance
deductible is the topic of conversation on a regular basis. lol. However, this is the
first time I'm happy to drive on the left side.
At 2:30 we arrived in Wellington at the campground. Ferry tomorrow morning to
Picton to the S. Island.
Today I took pictures with the old Sony camera. At night Immy offered me the use of
her camera for the rest of the trip. She bought the identical Canon G12 a few days
before we left. She says "then I don't have to bother", and she will also get a blog book
which we are planning to order. Immy is definitely my favorite sister in NZ.
At night we had a nice 20 minute walk to a fish and chip store in town.

These carts were available for the kids to use. Peter wanted a pic so he could make one for his grands at home. |
