Foggy and rainy this morning. Skyped with Amy and the kids. They are back from Florida.
Then skyped with Arlene and Jelayna.

We were on the road by 8:15 and Marcel named the GPS "Bertha". Bertha takes us on the strangest routes. Dunedin is a big city and I think we seen every street. 20 min. and we are outside the city. Whew. Stopped for breakfast and this time coffee is $5. Would be OK if it was lekker!! (good) |
|
Finally got a pic of a one way bridge.

|
We decided to take the dead end road along Lake Pukaki to view
Mt. Cook from the East side. The tip can barely be seen. |
|
On our way back, the sky was still grey, but the water was a gorgeous aqua color.Lake Pukaki "mirror lake" Gorgeous, gorgeous drive. |
|
Found another dead end road, and decided to investigate. |
|
Only the second glacier we saw. Mueller Glacier. |
|
Black sky, but stunning scenery.
Thanks you Anne for suggesting this route.
The drive was definitely nicer than the destination. |

And this is how Peter crawls into his nest at night. |
|
Immy closes her eyes when Peter climbs (or drives).
Fairlie Top 10 campground. 493k today. The furthest we drove yet. |
You are right Alida, in spite of the cloudy skies, the scenery is still beautiful! The colour of the lake is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThat is very brave of Peter, climbing up into his nest with a carton of eggs hanging off the counter by his feet! Oh well, scrambled eggs are good too!
I understand Immy .. that is what that many years of marriage does ... it teaches you to close your eyes or look the other way.
It seems no matter where you go, or what the weather, the beauty never stops.
Continue to enjoy and know that we are thinking of you at home all the time.
