Up at 6, left at 6:30 for the 10 minute drive to the ferry. Rainy drizzle most of the day.
We had breakfast in the motor home while waiting for the boarding at 8:30
Ferry crossing was 3 hrs. and 10 min. An employee on board whose job is to
help people plan their trip, laid out our complete trip on the S. Island. He did a
fantastic job. Distances, what we wanted to do, hrs travelling per day and the dates.
We made a few changes in our original plans Now we have an itinerary.
On the S. Island we stopped at a picnic area for lunch, and it was then that I discovered I
could blog while driving. Passed quite a few deer farms. Snaky roads all day. I
know now there are no straight roads anywhere in NZ. Hundreds of one way bridges, which in itself is not a problem. Only the sudden quick stops if there is a vehicle coming from the other way. Yikes.
Arrived in Westport . In bed at 9:30. No euchre tonight.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Teresa! Everything is so gorgeous! Why don't you ask someone now and then to take a picture of the four of you together? That's what we did.
ReplyDeleteEvery day is different from the one before! Oh, the stories you will have to tell!
We love you and are thinking of all of you and the fun you are having.
